Blue Margin is hiring a Business Development Representative to join our team in Fort Collins, Colorado.  

 

Job Description

This is a fantastic entry-level or junior-level role for a candidate passionate about connecting with people, learning about technology, and who loves to win. The ideal candidate is seeking an organization that offers career advancement and upward compensation potential. 

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role is a key component of reaching our growth goals. You will be responsible for developing and expanding assigned account and prospect target lists focused by industry vertical, buyer category, market segment, and solution set.  

We are seeking a candidate to work as a full-time employee in our local office in Fort Collins.    

Please note that we are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Achieve 15 meetings with Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) per month and 8 Sales Qualified Leads (SQL) per month 
  • Use prospecting strategies (cold calls, emails, social selling, etc.) to lead initial outreach to prospects 
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer 
  • Determine the prospect's interest in data lakes and Managed Data Service 
  • Schedule discovery meetings with BI consultants and prospective clients 
  • Report to the Director of Consulting on weekly, monthly, and quarterly results 
  • Stay up-to-date with Blue Margin products/services and go-to-market strategy

Required Qualifications 

  • Track record of achieving sales quotas 
  • Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills
  • Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures 
  • Interest in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, and / or AI 
  • Thrive in competitive, self-directed, fast-paced environments 
  • Motivated by financial incentives and quickly advance through the professional ranks 
  • Take pride in quality of work and team accomplishments 
  • Always WANT TO WIN 
  • Eagerly challenge tradition with new ways of thinking and connecting with clients 
  • At least one year of professional experience in technical sales 
  • At least one year of professional experience selling to C-Suite prospects 
  • Bachelor’s Degree 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience reaching or exceeding 5 MQL meetings per week / 20 MQL meetings per month activity goals 
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or other industry leading CRMs 
  • Understanding of manufacturing, commercial services, or distribution and / or private equity 

 

Compensation and Details 

  • Base Salary: $45K - $65K 
  • Commission: $15K – $30K 
  • Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401K retirement savings plan with up to 4% matching, health club stipend, paid vacation, and sick leave.
